The Marketing Department kicked off 2025 with a meeting at Kowloon restaurant last week for over 100 managers and leasing office staff all across the portfolio. The meeting covered a variety of topics and provided best practices for a number of marketing tools and platforms.  Andrea covered topics in leasing and sales with a strong focus on phone skills and shop reports. She also gave examples of recorded phone calls for everyone to critique together which was very beneficial. The Marketing team also put together a leasing skills quiz on Kahoot with leasing training questions and the winner received a gift card. Sebastian discussed Customer Relationship Management performance and best practices for lead management which was a great refresher for everyone and useful for new hires to learn more about the platform.  Grace went over utilizing ChatGPT as a writing tool to assist in email responses. JMC held our annual Holiday Managers Meeting last week at Granite Links in Quincy to close out the end of the year and highlight accomplishments at our communities. We reflected on and celebrated progress made in 2024 and discussed exciting things to come for JMC in the new year.  President Bob Ruzzo kicked off the meeting with opening remarks and his tradition of introducing new managers.  Members of the DEI Committee spoke about accomplishments throughout the year and introduced neurodiversity which is a topic the Committee will be focusing on in 2025 to enhance JMC's commitment to be an inclusive workplace.  Vice President Nancy Gaudet touched on new business with information on properties that recently joined the portfolio and new properties set to join us in 2025.   Gary Saltmarsh spoke about NSPIRE, insurance reporting, and work orders for maintenance operations.  Jonathan Owens gave an update on energy at JMC and ways to enhance efficiency at our co...

Members of JMC attended IREM's 2024 Holiday Celebration and Awards Night as well as the MAA President's and Achievements Awards dinner this week. Several employees and properties were nominated for awards at both events and we are proud to share our award recipients below! DUO held a ribbon cutting ceremony last week to officially open the doors of the brand-new six-story building. The event was largely attended, and several city officials spoke in addition to JJC's CEO Joseph Corcoran, and Peter Mahoney, JMC 's Executive Vice President of Development.  This was a notable event as DUO is the first completed project in the Commonwealth's Public Housing Innovations Demonstration Program, and has been a pioneering redevelopment into a mixed-income community in Chelsea.  Above is a resident who lived in the public housing development, Innes Apartments, that existed prior to the redevelopment of the property.   JMC recently took on the management of Washington Mill 240 located in Lawrence, MA. JMC held the Fall Managers Meeting this week at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Wakefield. President Bob Ruzzo started with opening remarks followed by a portfolio performance update as we near the end of 2024.  Bob Ruzzo, Executive Vice President President of Development, Rick High, introduced the Project Directors who gave updates of ongoing projects. The managers got to hear more about Phase II of Union 346 in Somerville and another project in the pipeline in Beverly.
