2023: A Year in Review

2023 Development, Management, & Renovation Programs 2023 has marked a year of many achievements for JMC with several development projects, a new acquisition and partnership, assuming management for three properties, leasing up new communities, and the completion of many renovation programs. Although we reflect on accomplishments of the past year, JMC already looks forward to what's in the pipeline for 2024. Development Details Phase I of Union 346 has had a successful ongoing lease-up in 2023. The community also   won the Platinum Hermes Award for website design.   Phase II of Union 346 is located directly adjacent to Phase I with delivery in 2024. Continuing Education with Maintenance Managers

 Maintenance Policies & Procedures Workshop The Maintenance Operations team held a training at Pelham Learning Center  for all Maintenance Managers who were hired just prior to and during the pandemic. The daylong training covered sessions on our procure-to-pay system, maintenance policies and procedures, and everything else needed to be a successful Maintenance Manager at JMC . The first half of the training went into depth on topics such as the bidding process, painting and cleaning procedures, and apartment turnover procedures. The latter half of the day focused on the work order system, corrective and janitorial maintenance, inspections, preventative maintenance, staff responsibilities, reports, grounds, snow removal, safety, and personnel policies. As a result of participating in the workshop, these Maintenance Managers are now able to understand and uphold all JMC policies and procedures, complete forms accordingly, and recognize the importance of effective Maintenance Polici

JMC Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

JMC Gives Back October marks Breast Cancer Awareness month and JMC supported this effort throughout the portfolio. Our properties participated in a pink pumpkin decorating contest to spread awareness to this cause in true fall fashion.  Faxon Commons The contest winner got to pick a gift from Metavivor and all proceeds will go toward supporting those fighting against stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. JMC Certifies Employees in Operations Training

JMC employees recently underwent significant training sessions to become certified in operations training. The September Manager's Meeting focused on the 'Framework' of JMC with various training sessions on Finance, Rental Operations, Administrative Procedures, and Maintenance.  Regional Managers, Property Managers, Assistant Property Managers, and staff from the corporate office got to participate in four different breakout sessions. All sessions were led by our newly certified trainers which made for the largest training event held since before the pandemic.   The meeting also covered updates from the Compliance, Human Resources, and IT Departments.  JMC has committed itself to excellence in company-wide training and we look forward to continuing these efforts in the future.  The meeting concluded with Meet the Mission awards given to employees who were nominated by a fellow employee for going above and beyond their regular duties. JMC Properties Celebrate Resident Appreciation Day

  JMC properties recently celebrated Resident Appreciation Day across the portfolio and our staff planned fun events to show appreciation for their residents throughout the day. Each property came up with unique ways to celebrate with different activities and many utilized local businesses for catering services. Check out the 2023 theme of JMC's tropical summer luau! Lynnfield Commons  catered lunch from Big Pig BBQ right down the street! Station Square  got tropical cookies from Mansfield Hometown Bakery. The Mastlight  made the day picture perfect with this fun backdrop and residents got to enjoy pizza and ice cream from local businesses in Weymouth.
