Members of JMC attended IREM's 2024 Holiday Celebration and Awards Night as well as the MAA President's and Achievements Awards dinner this week. Several employees and properties were nominated for awards at both events and we are proud to share our award recipients below! Holiday Managers Meeting in Cinematic Style The holiday season has been an eventful time of year for JMC with the annual holiday managers meeting and the company holiday party.  The managers meeting took place at a unique venue this year- a movie theater! JMC departments including Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Compliance, Operations, and Capital Expenditure all gave updates and projects to look forward to in 2024.  A 2023 highlight reel video was displayed on the big screen which was later followed by a special viewing of Top Gun: Maverick in the theater. The day concluded with 'The Corcoran' awards for staff and properties to recognize their efforts throughout the year. The summer season is upon us and JMC is ready for opening the pools this Memorial Day weekend! JMC's  Spring Manager's Meeting was held this week to discuss updates from Human Resources, Marketing, and the Maintenance Department. Marc Colburn spoke about seasonal grounds for spring and summer on behalf of maintenance.   Marc Colburn is the Arborist and Grounds Superintendent for JMC . Marc has years of experience as a Massachusetts Certified Arborist and he makes our communities shine with outstanding curb appeal year-round. He designs and installs new outdoor spaces and promotes consistent and attractive landscaping across the portfolio.  Marc Colburn Marc highlighted several communities throughout his presentation with examples of exceptional planting installation during the spring months and the consistent upkeep to maintain these beautiful flower beds throughout the summer months.  Marc announced five winners for the 2022 summer season categorized for the most improved property, two of the best small sites, and two of the best large sites.   John M. Corcoran & Company earned a SatisFacts Resident Satisfaction Award at several properties in 2022. These awards are broken down into the SatisFacts Community Award and the ApartmentRatings epIQ Top Rated Award.  The SatisFacts Community Award is given to communities with a 4.25+ overall score for Annual or Insite with a minimum of 25 completed surveys throughout the year. John M. Corcoran & Company celebrated the annual Resident Appreciation Day on August 18th. JMC took on the theme of "Camp Corcoran" to celebrate this occasion across the entire portfolio. All of our properties took the time to organize a day full of events to show how thankful they are for our residents who make these communities so special. Each community was tasked with organizing a lumberjack breakfast, trail mix bar, picnic lunch, s'mores snack, and a happy camper dinner for residents to enjoy throughout the day.
