43 members from JMC attended the annual MAA Expo event at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston this week. This is MAA's largest event of the year and is open to all  job levels making the day impactful for everyone who attends.  The morning began with networking which led to the kickoff keynote speaker, Bozoma Saint John, who was the former CMO at Netflix and Endeavor, CBO at Uber, and Marketing Executive at Apple Music and PepsiCo and was named Forbes' "#1 Most Influential CMO".  After the first keynote, the tradeshow floor opened up with over 160 booths for everyone to explore new vendors and reconnect with existing vendors. The afternoon followed with lunch and smaller breakout sessions. There were 7 different breakout sessions for everyone to learn about new trends and insights in the industry. Members of JMC attended IREM's 2024 Holiday Celebration and Awards Night as well as the MAA President's and Achievements Awards dinner this week. Several employees and properties were nominated for awards at both events and we are proud to share our award recipients below! Nancy Gaudet, Senior Vice President, was named Certified Property Manager (CPM) of the Year by IREM. This award was given to Nancy because she has, "... set the standard for excellence, leading with passion, integrity, and a commitment to helping others succeed..." throughout her 30 years in the industry. JMC held the annual summer company outing this week at Kimball Farm in Westford, MA! About 275 of our employees were able to enjoy a beautiful sunny day filled with activities, delicious food, and prizes.  The Mastlight Crew Made Their Very Own Branded Shirts! Several of our employees started the morning with a round of golf that also included the Longest Drive Contest.  Winner of The Longest Drive: Jayson Corcoran Connections hosted a North Shore and South Shore Cornhole Tournament over the winter and the finalists played to win the championship at the outing!  Winners of Cornhole: Joe & Sam Six teams later participated in the popular "Ninja Challenge", aiming to finish the course and beat the buzzer in record time.  Ninja Challenge Winners: Chris, Carlos, Jack, & Jessie Kimball Farm served a great cookout lunch followed by many scoops of the famous homemade ice cream. The National Apartment Association holds an annual conference and 12 members of JMC and Co had the opportunity to attend Apartmentalize in Atlanta, GA this year! This was a beneficial learning experience with educational sessions, networking, exploring a variety of exhibitors, and reconnecting with existing vendors.     Apartmentalize consisted of general sessions for all attendees in addition to a wide selection of education sessions over the course of three days. The JMC team got to participate in sessions covering a range of topics including Operations, Marketing, Maintenance, Leasing, Leadership, and Technology.
